From the Director Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew
5:14-16
“You
are the light of the world … let your
light shine before men, that they may see
your good deeds
and praise your
Father in heaven.”
An interpretation of the above
Scripture by
St. Francis of Assisi
“Preach the
Gospel at all times; when
necessary, use words”
Dear Colleagues,
It is my great privilege
to greet you at the beginning of
another school year, and for the first time as the regional director
for Europe
of the Association of Christian Schools International.
I treasure my friendship
with many of you, which has
developed over the last 16 years that I have served with ACSI. I have
had
contact with many of your schools in a variety of ways over the years:
institutes,
teachers’ conferences, administrators’ conferences, school visitations,
student
leadership events, music fests. Your faithfulness in ministry and your
efforts in
applying biblical principles in the school context has always been an
encouragement to me.
I strongly believe that
there is no higher calling than that
of a Christian teacher who is in the position to influence the life of
the next
generation for Christ daily. At the same time, I am aware of the many
challenges that you as Christian teachers and schools are facing every
day. This
is why I am convinced that we all need this community of fellow
professionals,
and the services that ACSI is committed to provide, to help keep us on
the
right path, and to help us keep our eyes on the Goals that are set
before us.
As the Europe regional
director for ACSI, I am committed to
bringing the most effective services to you that will provide
professional and
spiritual development to help you fulfill your calling as Christian
teachers
and administrators for the benefit of your students and for God’s
glory. My
prayer for you is that God would enable your schools to provide the
best education
for your children that is good for a lifetime and for eternity.
Hope to see you soon. In
Christ,
Laci Demeter
